|
| What is Alexander Magazine? |
| Alexander Magazine provides in-depth basic, intermediate and
advanced training on the World Wide Web in various music industry topics. All of the
estimated 1200 pages of Web training postings are available to Alexander
subscribers so that they can get information on the specific topics they need and at the
appropriate level of the user's understanding. If you are the newest enthusiast or
the most seasoned professional, you will find useful information in the subjects of music
recording, production, and marketing, We are adding in excess of 150 pages of text
each issue, meaning that we are "on-track" to double our postings over the
next 12 months. |
|
| What is currently available to subscribers? |
| Each front page gives several postings on a particular subject. The
current issue could be about home recording, mixing techniques, studio recording or music
production. The issue could introduce a new online interactive training module
containing over 100 pages of postings. Each issue has links to previous lead topics
and additional articles on other topics. To fully appreciate what is
available, simply visit our current front page of the current issue. |
| The Distance Study section will let you study the subject matching the
theory classes at Recording Institute of Detroit campus classes. Students may study
to qualify for RID "Quik Study" classes, reducing campus attendance time by 40%
for program certification classes. Students study to pass a "placement exam"
allowing the distance student to take only the "hands-on" practical program
classes to get full RID certification. Alexander Interactive Study Modules are
available for all recording classes in the RID Associate Recording Engineer Program.
|
|
| How often is Alexander Magazine published? |
| Alexander Magazine is scheduled to be published twice quarterly
(about one issue every 6 weeks) or 8 issues a year. Every three months there will be
a "major" issue containing over a dozen articles or a major online
training module. The "off-quarter" issues will be about 60% as full.
Also don't forget the many other previous postings that you will have access to. |
|
| How much does it cost? |
| We try to keep Alexander a "great buy" and charge the smallest
amount feasible. The web training subscription cost of Alexander Magazine is
currently $249.00 for two-years of access. Longer and shorter subscriptions are not
available. This rate is scheduled to increase in price every 6 months for the next
two years, necessary because of the costs involved in hosting and maintaining a site that
keeps doubling it's size. The price is scheduled to increase to $299 on July 1,
2001. To subscribe, go here. |
| Is a CD ROM available? |
| January 20, 2001, Alexander Magazine is releasing it's first CD-ROM
called "Recording 'Cylopedia" V2.0. The disk contains 95% of the Alexander
Magazine content available December, 2000. It can be used for "high speed"
study at home. The Cylopedia is supplied free of charge to new Alexander Magazine
subscribers and is only available as a separate item for RID Campus students and as
updates to previous subscribers. The campus price is $149 and the update price is
$49. |
| Will printed copies of the magazine be available? |
| In a word - No. |
